Adam was born and raised in Aberystwyth, Wales and competes for Cardiff AAC. For 18 years of his life, Adam lived in the only county in the UK without a recognized 8-lane, synthetic athletics track.

As an age group athlete, he finished 2nd at the UK U20 5,000m Championships and 3rd at the UK U23 5,000m Championships. Adam attended Cardiff Metropolitan University and gained a Bachelor’s degree in sport and physical education. In his time at Cardiff Met, he won the BUCS Indoor 3000m title and 5000m Outdoor title. He also represented Great Britain at the European U23 Championships, finishing 12th in the 5000m.

In 2012, Adam moved across the pond to the University of New Mexico to pursue a Masters Degree in Sports Administration. Whilst at UNM, Adam qualified for three NCAA Track Championships, finishing 9th in the 5,000m Indoors and 10th in the 10,000m Outdoors in 2014. Adam’s best season for the lobos came indoors in 2015, where he won the conference 3,000m and 5,000m titles, and earned All-American status – finishing 6th in the 3,000m at the NCAA Indoor Champs.

Adam represented Wales at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in the 10,000m and is the Welsh 5000m Indoor record holder with 13:44.
